The show made its debut on May 10, 2016, and spanned eight seasons, with the final season kicking off on February 23, 2021. The series wrapped up with its 75th episode on May 4, 2021. The quintuplets were born prematurely at 28 weeks via cesarean section, a significant event covered on the show.

Shortly after their birth, each of the five girls was diagnosed with a heart murmur, a condition that was managed with medical treatment. Their initial weeks were spent in the neonatal intensive care unit at the Texas Women’s Hospital, and they were able to go home between June and July of 2015. A notable aspect of the series was the focus on Hazel, one of the quintuplets, who has congenital nystagmus.

This condition causes involuntary eye movements, and Hazel often tilts her head to see more clearly. The show documented her 2016 eye surgery aimed at alleviating some symptoms. In 2017, she was diagnosed with astigmatism in her left eye, receiving glasses to correct farsightedness and support her vision development.
